Our Moqup Workshop

On July 11, 2026, CoderDojo conducted a Moqup workshop at the “Alte Feuerwache” library.

Moqups help people create website templates. Notably, no programming experience is required to use them.

It is a design tool that allows you to creatively design websites. The tool does not need to be downloaded and can be used directly online.

This allows the focus to be placed on visual design and enables easy adjustments.

Designer Studio

The workshop began with a game where the children were asked to draw a dog. No further instructions were given. The goal was to show the children that even though everyone received the same task, very different results came out. The objective was to convey to the children that when developing a website, it is necessary to clearly express one’s wishes so that they can be implemented and meet expectations.

Process

To give the children a practical idea of how the tool works, its usage was initially demonstrated. A website for an animal shelter was built, where people could learn about various dog breeds. Afterward, a finished Moqup app was presented to show a result.

After explaining how to use it, the children were allowed to choose what kind of website they wanted to design. The work was done in pairs, with the children presenting their website ideas to each other.

The difficulty was in describing one’s idea to another person as accurately as possible.

The children started building, resulting in many creative outcomes. Examples included: a football page, an anime page, and a Super Mario game.

The children quickly learned how the tool worked and wanted to test out more complex features. The functionalities used exceeded the expectations of the mentors.

Conclusion

Many children exchanged ideas with each other and thought it was fun to implement the other person’s ideas. In the end, everyone could be proud of their results.
